FreinMeister's initial mission was to provide air brake training clinics for fleet maintenance and service personnel. The goal was to assist fleet service managers and technicians in better understanding air brake system design and operation and to address specific service issues such as the difference between brake adjustment and excessive brake stroke and how to properly measure and cut brake chamber pushrods.
With the artistic assistance of Bob Morris of San Antonio, TX, FreinMeister created several generic air brake system drawings that formed the foundation for a series of "Color My Truck" air system exercises. These instructor/student interactive exercises proved exceptionally effective in helping clinic participants easily understand air brake system theory, operation and maintenance issues.
To date, FreinMeister Group Inc. has welcomed 6,894 students to its air brake training clinics, held at fleet facilities and in hotel conference rooms across Canada and the U.S.
In early 2005, FreinMeister entered into a co-operative arrangement with Bryan Duross TECHNICAL TRAINING SERVICES of Cambridge Ontario, an established (1985) technical training and educational program design, development and implementation company. The objectives were to vastly improve the scope and effectiveness of air brake training, through the implementation of modern
Commenting on the AIR BRAKE Interactive concept, Ron Gervais stated: “I discovered a new, animated air brake instructor support package unlike anything I’d ever seen during my 17 years with Bendix. The product has become known as ‘Air Brake Interactive’ and we are so proud to have our current working relationship with Bryan Duross Technical Training Services.” “Air Brake Interactive is a series of teacher support packages that help make the invisible visible, and that's not an easy task when an instructor is dealing with compressed air.”
The AIR BRAKE Interactive and AIR BRAKE Interactive E-Board series of teaching resource programs has since been expanded to include entry and intermediate level service technician training, advanced service and diagnostics and driver training. They are now employed by Community colleges, technical schools, fleets, transit properties, driving training schools and air brake component manufacturers across North America and abroad.
FreinMeister Group Inc. and Technical Training Services will continue to expand our Air Brake Interative and E-Board series of teaching resource programs to address additional air brake service issues and to meet the demands for training in new air brake technologies.
